I'm
a fan of these Kaisercraft gouache/water-soluble acrylic paint tubes,
as they're reasonably good for the price and have a decent quantity of
product in them.
I usually find the name the brand gives to the
colours accurate as it reflects the known colour or it rightly hints to
what we can expect. However, in this case I find that the blue is not
navy blue, it is too light for that. The thing is, on the exterior, it
actually looks like navy-blue, but the paint itself does not, as per my
swatches above. On the other hand, this blue is just wonderful and can
be diluted to get lighter blue tones as per my photo above.
MIND
> Liquid body not medium or heavy body acrylic. Almost a glaze.
> This is a water-soluble acrylic. I read this as a gouache, which is OK with me.
> The colour changes considerably when dry, this is because of the water-soluble nature of it.
> The tube cannot be placed vertically due to the cap being tiny, so it has to be stored horizontally.
I am very pleased with this set of decoupage paper. Good quality paper, printing quality and good value for money as decoupage paper is usually very expensive and you have 8 A4 sheets in this pack. The images are all vintage, but there are two clearly different styles, one if floral, and the other is textual. I like all the images, but the two sheets with small flowers are too busy. The paper reacts well with gel matte medium and Mod Podge. Overall a great set
I had one of those square pen holders that are so trendy now, but it takes a lot of space on my desk and the pens come off easily. This being the case, I decided to give this holder a try. I wasn't really sure if this would save me space, rotate smoothly or hold all my stuff. I am very impressed with this little holder. It takes half of the space than the other pen holder, it rotates beautifully and holds tons of stuff. This is plastic, but good quality one. The cream colour makes it fit in with any decor, especially skandy and minimalist spaces like my study. I'm in love with this.
This is a great set of oil pastels for beginners. It's really cheap, the quality is excellent for the price, like better than expected, and the selection of colours is terrific as the package contains a mix of primary, secondary and pastel colours. Easy to use and spread, although not as spreadable as good quality ones. On the other hand, I wish these ones have points, a la crayons, to make use easier while drawing lines or filling in corners or narrow spaces. I love this set.
This clear stamp is just lovely. It has three separate butterflies, meaning it is not a block with three items, but individual items. If you use a stamp block, the results are amazing. Great quality and it washes beautifully under fresh clear water. My only downside is that the butterflies are quite small and that the back sheet is a bit hard to separate from the stamp resin. Amazing quality for the price, as well.
Nothing fancy about this masking tape, but it does the job for a fraction of the price of a major brand. I use it mostly for pre framing painting sheets and is easy to stick and reposition. I tend to paint over the masking tape and it does not bleed through, but if I'm using spray painting, it would go under the tape, and the same if I the acrylics are liquid. My main concern is that it peels off the paper when removing it. I use thick watercolour paper, so it's not the paper, it's the tape sticking glue. I'd love if they made it in another colour or a bit darker as this one is the same colour as the watercolour paper I use and it's difficult to distinguish the edges.
THINGS I LIKE
>
The colours are beautiful and varied. Primary and secondary included.
There is one pastel included, the Baby Pink, and it is just so pretty.
> They're gouache-like, so you can use the pigment straight from the bottle or dilute it with water.
> Good overall quality.
> Quantity in each bottle is considerable.
>
The bottles have a sticker on the cap top showing the colour, which
comes super handy when you have a lot of bottles and want to choose the
colour rapidly.
> Very good value for money, especially because if
you were buying individual bottles/colours you'd be paying almost
double the price.
THINGS THAT CAN BE IMPROVED
> The selection of blues. I missed a navy or dark blue. The two blues provided are too close in hue.
> Ditto the browns.
> Ditto the yellows.
