KJUGE Pouffe with storage (Knisa dark grey) (38 cm D x 33 cm H)

I have several of  these around my home, full with travelling gear, emergency kit, and soft furnishings. They aren't the most posh looking pouffes, but they are modular, and can be used separated or form a combination, like in the photo. They aren't visually appealing, but I find that the dark grey is not visually disruptive either. They are very light so I can move them around easily, even when they are full. It holds tons of stuff and you can sit on them as long as you aren't 110Kgs of weight or more. They fit in the Kallax modular shelves, but they don't look good in those, to be honest. I don't like the outward label, which is also a pull, because it lacks finesse. The pouffe is easily to fold and store when not in use.

CARE It cannot be washed or dry-cleaned, just vacuumed or wiped with a damp cloth. The cover has a lighfastness of 5-6 on a scale of 8, so it has high resistance to colour fading. This cover’s ability to resist abrasion has been tested to handle 40,000 cycles (30,000+ cycles means a good ability to resist abrasion).

MATERIALS
  • Lid: Polyurethane foam 25 kg/cu.m., Plywood.
  • Frame/ Support panel: Fibreboard.
  • Fabric: 100% polyester (min. 90% recycled).

EKET Connection fittings

These fittings are specifically designed to connect different EKET cabinets/cubes if you want to have them placed on the floor, not on the wall (there are specific fittings for that purpose). They come with the corresponding connecting screws and insertable clips.

By looking at the instructions leaflet, they seem to be super easy to instal. However, as other EKET components, they are well designed but poorly manufactured. What meant to be an easy task, it turned out to be a hassle.

The fittings are made of galvanised steel, and therefore, good quality. However, the accompanying screw system (plastic clips that nail into a plastic screw holder) is  not something I want to use when mounting furniture that might hold a lot of weight. These clips are similar to other Ikea products clips. However, the heads don't clip in at all, or it takes effort for them to do. Some of the clips worked first time. Others, didn't work at all so I had to use a soft hammer knock to get them down, while others, they split open and were ruined.

The result is as intended, you put two or more cubes together. For sure, they're more connected and safer than if they'd be if you didn't use them. Yet, they don't hold the cubes strongly due to only two clips being used on each side and the clipping system being plastic.
