Meeden Portable Paint Brush Washer (Large, 11D x 11W x 12.6H cms)

I have a similar small washer, which I love, and I was looking for a container as large as this one. However, I couldn't find anything affordable till I found this Meeden washer. 

 

This washer is as large as described on the Amazon product page, not less not more. It's made of good quality sturdy stainless steel and its design is perfect for indoors and outdoors, for acrylics and oils. 

 

I can carry this outdoors thanks to the handle and the locking system, which allows me to hermetically close the jar. Sometimes, I use it on its own, without its inner grate insert, and others with it. The grate is perfect to rub the brushes and help removing stuck paint. If left for a while, the solid parts of the paint deposit on the bottom, so I can empty the water and wipe out these solids with a napkin and dispose of it in the rubbish. 

 

The container box looks great and is really good quality, so it's perfect for gifting.

MEEDEN 12-piece Artist Acrylic Paint Brushes Set

The box contains  flat, fan, angler, round, liner and filbert brushes in different sizes.  

 

I love Meeden products. All the art supplies and brushes I've purchased from them in the past have been both affordable and great quality. I bought this brush set not only because of the brand and its affordability, but also because it has a good selection of small/detail brushes and a 1-inch mottler.

 

Despite what the description page says, this package I got didn't come with a carrying case, just the cardboard holding packaging, which is disappointing. Unlike my other Meeden brushes, these brushes are a bit of a downgrade re handle quality. This tends to break open if kept in water for long periods of time, yet only one of them broke open. The taklon fibres are, on the contrary, excellent -- soft, flexible, easy to wash and low maintenance. 

 

Not professional quality but good quality overall, and they do the job if you're on a budget.

MEEDEN Ceramic Rectangle Artist 9-Well Palette

This is a great space saver due to its rectangular shape. It's on the small side, so it's easy to position on the table, move around, and carry in my hand, if I need to move between painting areas. Easy to wash under running water with or without dishwashing liquid. I use an old discarded toothbrush to clean the corners and edges. I prefer this palette to the small circular one by the same brand.

MEEDEN 7-Well Studio Porcelain Paint Palette Tray

This is such a great idea and design. I use many things as palette, from palette paper to plastic reused lids to oven paper. Yet, sometimes my table is covered with clutter that limits my working space. This almost fixes the problem as I don't need to use big surfaces unless I'm using a roller or painting on larger surfaces.
 
This tray is very small (see my photo against my mouse), but it's perfect for me to hold in my small hands. The recesses of the flower shape are great for my fingers to grip the piece comfortably. I tend to use many colors when painting, so this is great to put all my acrylics, gesso and medium in one single container. The little wells are great for the quantities of product that I usually use.
 
As it's porcelain, it cleans easily with average household dish-washing liquid and water. I wash it by hand, not in the dishwasher, so I don't know whether is dishwasher-safe or not.
 
 Very happy with the purchase and with the fact that is porcelain not plastic, and therefore environmentally friendly.

Meeden 7-Piece Flat Paint Brushes Set Short Handle

I've had this set for a few months already and use all the brushes on a weekly basis. This set has a good selection of flat sizes. I especially love the two smallest ones, but all of them are good. The flat shape is wonderful for most painting purposes. I tend to leave the brushes in water for a long time, and the handle and ferrule haven't been affected or deteriorated. The synthetic hair perfectly stands all the acrylic paints I use (heavy body, flow and high flow) and the hair recovers its shape easily once it is cleaned. I clean them with hand soap and water under the tap when they're really stained, and they wash beautifully. The only downside is that the hairs are not as flexible as I'd like to, but, for the price, they're great and beautifully designed.

Meeden 5-Piece Painting Knife Set

I've never used painting knives before, so my review cannot take into account any professional knives out there or make any comparison. However, I've used these knives extensively in the last weeks and I think they're perfect for beginners.

> Flexible stainless steel metal that I can safely bend and use in different ways.
> Easy to clean under water or with average cleaning wipes.

> The mix of shapes allows me to create different textures and shapes on paper and are also ideal to make painting marks.

The golden letters on the handle are cheaply made so the gold leaf is already peeling after less than a month in my hands.

Meeden 5X7" 20-sheet Acid-free 100%-cotton Hot-pressed Watercolour Pad (140lb/300gsm)

This is a small pocket pad (see my photo beside my A5 journal), with 20 sheets of glorious watercolor paper. However, the way the pad has been assembled is dreadful. The edges are tightly silicone-glued together. The pad comes with a free beautiful feather opener to separate the sheets; however, this one is quite thick, so not really fit for the tightness of the glued edges, so much so that separating the sheets proved difficult and some of the edges were damaged in the process. I don't really see the need of this. Otherwise, as I've said, great watercolor paper and really portable pad.
